Community Events

Every Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., the whole group gets together for some kind of event. This is a running list of things we've done and ideas worth trying — meant to help you and your peers decide what to do on a coming weekend. Add to it as the group does new things. Tips and highlights only; check with staff and your peer council on any logistics.

The list

  • Game & movie room at the apartment clubhouse. Reserve ahead: someone has to call the complex during weekday business hours to book it — often more than a week in advance to secure the space. Don't leave this to Saturday.
  • Beach volleyball — there's a court in the back corner of the apartment complex.
  • Potluck dinner.
  • Attend a movie.
  • Laser tag.
  • Bowling. Note: call ahead to make sure no leagues are going.
  • Paint event at a paint-and-sip in town — note: the group does this alcohol-free.
  • Pool party.
  • Cookout / grill-out.
  • Board games.
  • Peer-run trivia night.
  • Sports watch party.
  • Longleaf Trace — a long, flat, shaded rail-trail; group walk, bike ride, or trailhead picnic. Free.
  • The Lucky Rabbit — a rotating vintage marketplace; easy, low-key group browse. Free to walk through.
  • Picnic at a nearby state park.
  • Disc golf.
  • Ice cream or dessert outing.

If the group did something that isn't on this list, or you have an idea worth trying, send it in through a confidential form.
